Join the Library Friends of Payson and its supporters at the annual A Taste of Rim Country Saturday, March 9.
The competition always draws a crowd to sample the work of Rim Country chefs and aspiring food professionals.
Slated from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the event offers wines to sample as well as food, or sparkling cider for those who don’t wish to imbibe.
Chefs from the following restaurants are scheduled to participate: Cake Love, Beeline Café, MissFitz 260 Café, Gerardo’s Firewood Café, Mazatzal Bakers from the Mazatzal Hotel and Casino, Journigan House, Laura’s Small Café, Creekside Steak House, Landmark at the Creek and members of the Payson High Culinary Club.
There is limited space for additional chefs to take part, but arrangements must be made as soon as possible. Contact Karen Thornton at (928) 478-4133 for details.
Part of the evening’s festivities includes the opportunity for guests to cast a ballot for their favorite chef. The chef who receives the most votes is named “Best of the Best” and given a trophy, recognizing their official status. Guests can also bid on a wide selection of silent auction items such as a catered five-course dinner for six, fine artwork, jewelry and more. There will also be a 50/50 raffle — half of the raffle sale proceeds go to the winning ticketholder and the other half benefits the library. The evening includes music provided by DJ Fred Carpenter.
Tickets are $30 per person. All proceeds support the Payson Public Library and its various ongoing programs. Tickets are available for purchase at the Payson Public Library and half the cost of the ticket is tax deductible. A limited number of tickets are available and none will be sold at the door.
