The Payson Police Department is looking for a few good men — and women. The pay? That warm feeling only found from volunteering.
The police department is in short supply of volunteers, especially on the front end, at reception.
Police Chief Don Engler said they need at least a handful of new volunteers to fully staff the front desk.
Front desk volunteers are responsible for greeting the public, fingerprinting, calling homebound seniors and various other clerical duties.
The position is open to anyone willing to volunteer at least once a week for 4.5 hours.
While many volunteers are seniors, Engler said all are welcome to apply.
A background check is required and training is offered. To apply, pick up an application at the front desk of the Payson Police Department, 303 N. Beeline Highway.
