Ooing and aahing with some barking thrown in too, spectators and their canine friends enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display in Payson's Green Valley Park for the 4th of July.
Spectators had a double feast for the eyes because of the fireworks reflection in the water.
“It was so personal,” said Jeff Martis, a Phoenix resident up in Rim Country for the weekend. “The water made a difference.”
Martis and his family, including two three-month old dachshunds, sat on the edge of the lake in front of DJ Craig’s house to enjoy their first Payson fireworks display.
“I loved it – its better than Phoenix,” he said.
As the crowd filed out for the night, many spectators made similar comments.
One man said it was his first time in Payson and he would be coming back because "it is fun up here."
The fireworks show appeared to go off without a hitch, with no injuries, fires or time delays reported.
