Regarding The Dude Fire

Editor:

The Arizona State Legislature refused to posthumously commute the remaining sentences of the dead firefighters. Those not injured were required to return to prison and serve out their full sentences. One very badly burned man was briefly treated and released from prison with no medical benefits. He died soon after. The female supervisor was awarded a promotion posthumously.

One of the deceased firefighters is buried in a pauper’s grave in the Payson cemetery. No one ever claimed the body.

This was an evil fire in more ways than property destruction.

Is there a way to find out the location of the grave in the Payson Cemetery? I would like to place flowers there in honor of this individual's service and for giving the ultimate sacrifice. Perhaps if the name could be released a stone or some sort of monument could be erected at the grave site also. This person deserves that honor.
