Designer ‘bling’ jean sale
The Polkadot Blvd. will have a sale on designer bling jeans, designer clothing and accessories in the main lobby at Payson Regional Medical Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 16. Buy one item and get one 20 percent off.
There will be contemporary styles in shorts, Bermuda shorts, capris, bootcut, skinny and plus size jeans. The clothing is in women’s sizes 0-19 and children’s 7-14.
The Payson Regional Medical Center’s Senior Circle will have a Member Lunch at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 17 with Chris Wolf, PRMC chief executive officer; Pete Finelli, PRMC chief financial officer; and Shelly Thompson, business manager.
They will discuss PRMC’s hospital charges and reimbursements.
A Lunch and Learn is planned for 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 24 on the Medicare physical, presented by Dr. Jennifer Dumbolton and Dr. Amalia Pineres.
The goals of the Medicare physical are health promotion, disease prevention and detection.

Annie and Jennifer have produced two albums, which will be available at the event. They are also featured performers at this year’s Arizona Highland Celtic Festival in Flagstaff, July 20-21.
The July Chamber Mixer will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 18 at the KMOG Radio Ranch, 500 E. Tyler Parkway, Payson.

Transition Town Payson film
Transition Town Payson will host a two-part screening and discussion of the film “YERT: Your Environmental Road Trip” at Gila Community College, Room 301, 201 N. Mud Springs Rd., Payson.
Part 1 is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, July 19; the second part is at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2.

Rim Country Health’s Activity Department is having a Motorcycle Roundup at 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 19. All motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to the Motorcycle Roundup in the parking lot of Rim Country Health, 807 W. Longhorn Rd. Soroptimists celebrate National Lollipop Day
The area’s Soroptimists will have delicious See’s lollipops in a variety of flavors — including root beer and chocolate caramel — available at the Summer Sidewalk Sale at Walgreen’s from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 20. The sales table will be on the north side of the building. There will be books for sale for Rim Country Literacy Program, See’s Candies for Soroptimists and a variety of arts and crafts. Come and join us for fun and a free lollipop. If you can’t get there, you can stop by Arizona Elite Properties on South Beeline Highway for See’s Candies — but no free lollipops, just delicious candy! PHS Class of 1963 Reunion
The Payson High School Class of 1963 will celebrate its 50th Reunion, along with all who graduated from PHS in the sixties or earlier Saturday, July 20 at the LDS Church just south of the hospital.
All who knew us, knew anyone who knew us or our families, or went to school in the old rock building, are invited to attend.
Come and join us anytime after 10 a.m. A potluck lunch will begin at noon. Please bring a favorite dish to share — main dish, salad or dessert. Water will be provided. If there is enough interest, an Oldies Dance will be held from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. The music we grew up with and Country classics will be featured.
Ice cream social to help P-S Historical Society
The Wooden Nickel band is back for the third year to entertain and support the Pine-Strawberry Historical Society.
Come join the fun from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, July 20 at the Pine Cultural Hall for an Ice Cream Social and listen to the Wooden Nickel band play old country music. Admission for this event is $10 for adults, children $5, with children 5 years old and under free. Donations are always gladly appreciated!
Gosar staff sets Payson veterans’ roundtable
The staff of Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ-04) will hold a Veterans’ Roundtable in Payson from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 23 at Payson Messinger’s Funeral Home, 901 S. Westerly Rd.
Veterans are invited to share their thoughts and concerns about veterans’ issues and learn about the services that Rep. Gosar’s office provides. Staff will answer questions and provide help with the Veterans Administration and veterans’ benefits and other claims issues.
Gosar will not be in attendance.
Expert gives RV travel tips
Jaimie Hall Bruzenak, Arizona author and RV lifestyles expert, will share her experience and knowledge about RVing at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, in the meeting room of the Payson Public Library, 328 N. McLane Road. This free and open to the public event is hosted by the Library Friends of Payson. Light refreshments will be served.
Bruzenak has been traveling in an RV full-time and part-time with family or on a solo basis since 1992. She has authored a number of books and e-books on RVing: Various books will be available for purchase during the event and may be signed by the author.

The Shelby School open house and registration
The Shelby School, a non-profit Arizona State Charter School, is currently accepting registration for Grades K-8 for the 2013-2014 school year.
The annual open house is from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday July 30. This is a time for prospective students and families to come visit and see what the school is all about, and for current students and parents to fill out registration forms and meet their teachers. The full staff will be present to give tours of the facilities and answer any questions about classes or curriculum.
The Shelby School is located in the tall pines, 12 miles outside of Payson, off East Highway 260 at 249 W. Standage Dr., Tonto Village. The school provides daily bus service to and from Payson throughout the school year.

PCK raffles four-night cruise
Payson Community Kids (PCK) is a non-profit organization that assists low-income, “at risk” families and their children. This year, PCK is sponsoring a raffle for a four- night cruise for two with Princess Cruise Line to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico, leaving from the Long Beach area.
There will only be 100 tickets sold at a cost of $50 each. The drawing will be held live on KMOG at noon, Wednesday, July 31.

The Payson Art League is calling for artists to join the annual ArtOberfest Show on Oct. 18, 19, 20, 2013 at the Mazatzal Hotel & Casino Event Center.
