Computer group meets

The Payson Area Computer Association’s next general meeting is at 6:30 p.m., Friday, June 7 in the community room of the Payson Public Library. This will be a special SKYPE presentation by Francis Chao of the Tucson Computer Society on “A Comparison of Cloud Storage Services offered by SkyDrive, Google Drive, Box, and iCloud to help decide which cloud storage service is the best for you.”

The first meeting is always free and everyone is welcome. General meetings are held the first Friday of each month except August; with a Fix-It meeting held mid-monthly.

Reaching Out Breast Cancer Support Group

The Reaching Out Breast Cancer Support Group meets on the second Thursday of every month from 12:30 p.m. until around 2:30 p.m. at Mount Cross Lutheran Church, 301 E. Highway 260 (just past Safeway) in Payson.

The Thursday, June 13 meeting will be a potluck. This is for anyone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Come out, bring your favorite food (salad, casserole, dessert or other) to share and enjoy an afternoon of information, fellowship, comfort and support.

Unity of Payson

The Unity of Payson Sunday Service for June 9 will be led by the Rev. Julianne Lewis. Her talk is titled, “Yes, I’m Only Here for God.”

Lewis is an ordained Unity minister and has served for the past 25 years. She joins Unity of Payson from Interfaith Unity Church in Mesa.

Unity of Payson invites the public to join the Book Group/Membership Classes on Tuesdays through the month of June. Classes will be held at the Healing Arts Center in Swiss Village from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This is the last chance to apply to become a charter member with Unity of Payson. Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous meets from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays at the Rim Country Health and Retirement Community Room, 807 W. Longhorn Road (after turning in the main driveway, turn right at the first driveway. The Community Room is in the center of the apartment complex).

There are no fees or dues. The only membership requirement is a desire to not compulsively overeat anymore.

Photographers meet

The next meeting of the Rim Country Photography/Camera Club is at 6:30 p.m., Monday, June 10 at Rim Country Apartments, 807 W Longhorn Rd., Payson. After entering the drive, turn right and go to the building marked 809. The meeting is held in the activity room located in the central courtyard.

Please bring six recent images (no older than September 2012) in jpeg format on a flash drive or CD.  The images can be of any subject.

Buddhist Meditation and Study Group

The Payson Buddhist Meditation and Study group meets from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday evenings at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness, 107 W. Wade Lane. Call (928) 595-1378 for additional information.

Payson Area Singles

The Tuesday Morning Breakfast Bunch, a group of single men and women, meet at 9 a.m. every Tuesday at The Journigan House on Old Main in Payson, to visit and plan future activities. 

The next planned activity is 10 a.m., Saturday, June 15: a private showing of “Man of Steel” at Sawmill Theatres. The $7 ticket includes popcorn and a soda. Meet in the lobby at 9:45 a.m. to get a ticket.

Democratic Women

The Democratic Women of Rim Country will meet at noon, Tuesday, June 11 at Tiny’s Restaurant. Men are also invited to attend. 

The guest speaker will be Felecia Rotellini, former assistant attorney general and veteran prosecutor, who is running for Attorney General.

Payson Womans Club

The Payson Womans Club, the oldest service club in Payson, holds general membership meetings at 1 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Payson Womans Club building, 510 W. Main St. Membership is open to local women ages 18 and up.

Bereaved parents support group

The Compassionate Friends offers hope, reassurance and a safe place to talk about our children with others who understand the pain of losing a child. Anyone who has lost a child (or grandchild) at any time, at any age is welcome to attend.

The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at 102 W. Roundup, Suite D.

Payson Pro Rodeo Committee meets the second Tuesday of every month in the Swiss Village Best Western’s conference building at 6 p.m. New members welcome.

Senior Circle

A men’s only Lunch and Learn is planned at the Payson Regional Center’s Senior Circle at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 12. Dr. Alan Michels will discuss issues related to men’s physical and sexual health.

To make it possible for comfortable discussion, no women will be admitted.

The June 19 Member Lunch is a special event for Dutch Oven Cooking. Members will watch the demonstration, then enjoy a lunch cooked in Dutch ovens. Campers, cooks and anyone else interested in Dutch oven cooking should definitely plan to attend. The cost is $4.

Rim Country Celts will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 13 at the home of Alice Natale There will be a potluck dinner followed by the business meeting.

Rim Country Garrett Retirees will meet Thursday, June 20 at Tiny’s, 600 E. Highway 260, Payson. Social hour begins at 11 a.m. with lunch from the menu served at noon. Friends and Honeywell retirees are always welcome.
