Pleasant Valley Winery, Gila County’s only winery, will offer its wines alongside 17 other Arizona wineries at the inaugural Wine in the Pines Festival in Pinetop June 14-16.

“We are Master Grower members of the Arizona Wine Growers Association,” wrote Jim and Marie Petroff in an e-mail, “and are very excited that this is their first event in our region. We would not miss it for anything.” The Petroffs will offer four award-winning wines at the festival.

On Friday, attendees may try Arizona wines at various locations throughout the town. On Saturday and Sunday, the festival will take place in Charlie Clark’s Orchard in Pinetop amongst the apple and cottonwood trees from noon until 5 p.m.

Arizona’s wine industry is growing at a quick clip. The state has 77 wineries. Festivalgoers will not only taste wines, but also meet the winemakers.
