More than 700 people attend the 17th Annual Strawberry Patchers Quilt Show, which was held at the Pine Community Center’s cultural hall Friday through Sunday, June 7-9. People came from all over the state, according to event chair Elaine Putnam.

Winning best of show was Patty McKinney, who also won the Rim Country Quilt Roundup ribbon, one of 10 special awards at the show. The novice award went to Sue Loomis.

Other special award recipients were Maureen Pastika, Arizona Quilters Hall of Fame; Kris Lovetro, Leap of Faith, Strawberry Patchers and THAT Brewery & Pub awards; Alyce Leach, Pine Strawberry Business Community; Peter Plante, Pine Strawberry Historical Society; Jackie Smith, Ponderosa Piecers; Colene Barrett, Quilting Sisters; and Kathy MacCleary, Shoofly Quilters.
