John and Luann Carpino, parents of Jessalyn Marie Carpino, are proud to announce the December 2012 graduation of their daughter from Northern Arizona University. She graduated with honors with a GPA of 3.94, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Art Education. She was educated in Payson schools and went to college with several scholarships.
While attending NAU, she received numerous awards, including three of the university’s most prestigious honors — The President’s Prize, The Gold Axe Award and Distinguished Senior Award. The President’s Prize is the highest recognition of undergraduates at NAU — awarded for exemplary leadership, academic excellence and service to the NAU Community. Her Distinguished Senior Award was from the College of Arts and Letters, Fall 2012. In addition she was selected NAU Outstanding Senior for the School of Art, Fall 2012. She also was selected to study abroad with adviser and mentor Dr. Pamela Stephens (National Art Educator of the Year) in Europe and Austria.
She appeared in several national commercials and press releases and marketing information for NAU, to include gracing the billboards of Northern Arizona University, as well as the NAU Web site. Carpino was also very active in the independent film circles, and continues to act in films even after graduation. Most recently, two of her films have been showcased at the prestigious Sedona International Film Festival.
