New Petsmart Donates To $10,000 Dog Park

PetSmart will donate $10,000 to the area dog park Saturday during its grand opening celebration in the Rim Country Mall.

Payson Parks and Recreation and PAWS (Payson Area Woofers) will reportedly use the donation to add shade areas at the off-leash dog park at Rumsey Park.

“We are looking forward to meeting Payson pet parents and pets and supporting them both in and outside of our store,” said Ian Leanord, store manager. “Many of us PetSmart associates have lived here for a long time, and we are excited to join an organization

that is giving back.”

The majority of associates at the Payson PetSmart, 400 E. Highway 260, were hired from within the community, he added.

The store has thousands of items, including apparel, bedding, food and toys to take care of pets, whether they bark, meow, slither, blow bubbles or chirp, according to a company press release.

Professional services include a full-service grooming salon and dog training. Adoption events will also be held every weekend.

Saturday’s grand opening festivities include:

• Mystery gift cards for the first 50 people who enter the store.

• A drawing at 1 p.m. for 20 $25 gift cards.

• Free dog and cat toys

• Free T-shirt for enrolling in the PetSmart PetPerks program.

• “Enter to win” prizes such as dog training, a year’s supply of NUTRO pet food, one year of free
