Nine Payson DECA Chapter members competed at the DECA International Career Development Conference April 23-28 in Anaheim, Calif. The conference drew 16,340 students from all over the world.
Tanner Hintze, Eric Vohs, Nick McMullen and Jordyn Fruth all placed in the Top 20 in the world in their events.
Hintze and Vohs placed in the Top 10 in the world in the finals. All four placed in either travel and tourism marketing or sports and entertainment marketing.
Payson DECA was the only Arizona chapter with four students in the top 20.
Also qualifying and attending the International Conference for Payson High School were Kayla Percell, Natalie Moceri, Karen Williams, Shayna Neal and Madison Flake.
DECA’s 20,000 high school members worldwide are preparing for careers as leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, hospitality and management.
“All of our students worked hard to prepare for the conference and all had great scores in their competitive events,” said Joe Parone, DECA adviser.
“This is a huge accomplishment, so be sure to congratulate them when you see them.”
