Summer Recreation Program

The Summer Recreation Program is for children ages 6 to 12. Youngsters can be registered for one or all seven weeks.

The program will be held in the Rim Country Middle School gym and incorporates fun, physical and cultural activities, along with occasional field trips.

This is not a drop-in program. Participants must pre-register by Friday of the previous week.

The cost is $30 per child. Camps dates are: May 28-30*, June 3-6, June 10-13, June 17-20, June 24-27, July 1-3 and July 8-11. The program goes from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday, except where noted. Lunch will be served each day.

Fly-fishing 101

Fly-fishing 101 will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 8 at the Payson Parks and Recreation Office in Green Valley Park. The program is for those 13 and older and seating is limited, so register now.

PHS Volleyball Camp

The Payson High School volleyball team will once again offer a camp this summer. This camp gives youth the opportunity to learn from the high school players and coaches. Participants will work on fundamentals, refine skills and work on game strategies.

The cost is $30 per child and includes a T-shirt. The program is for those in grades 4-9. The camp is from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30.

PHS Basketball Camp

Join coaches Bill Farrell, Joe Sanchez and Cameron Davis for this fundamentals basketball camp. Shooting, passing, dribbling and game strategies will be worked on throughout the week.

The fee is $40 per participant. The camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., June 10-14 in Wilson Dome at the Payson High School.

7D Barrel & Pole Bending Buckle Series

Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a Tuesday night barrel and pole bending series at Payson Even Center during the months of May and June, which began May 7.

Books open at 4 p.m., events for time-only are from 4:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and competition events start at 6 p.m. The cost is $5 per run per event.
