Some of the gut-wrenching disappointment Lady Longhorn softball players suffered after being eliminated in the Division III state tournament semifinals was eased by the announcement five team members had been chosen to the All-Division III, Section III team.
Only state championship Estrella Foothills, who had six players chosen, had more honorees than did PHS.
For Payson, Taylor Petersen, Arianna Paulson and Arissa Paulson were voted to the S-III first team.
Twin sisters Megan and Kaitlyn Wessel were named second team.
The all S-III players were chosen in an online voting of coaches.
