Community Takes The Heat Off Women’S Shelter

The Time Out Shelter’s barren yard is a little cooler these days thanks to several new gazebos and plant donations.

Payson Landscaper, Big Lots, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Plant Fair Nursery, Big 5 Sporting Goods and tons of volunteers recently got together to spruce up the shelter’s dirt yard.

Volunteers cleaned the yard, planted a shade tree and fixed the basketball hoop and tetherball. Two new gazebos were set up with the help of Time Out’s Executive Director Camille Levee and Edna Welsheimer, volunteer and marketing support specialist.

Levee didn’t mind getting her hands dirty or working in her high heels, which she is rarely seen without.

Anyone wanting to help maintain the plantings may call Payson Landscaper at (928) 951-0859. The shelter still needs tax-deductible donations of comfortable outdoor furniture and toys for the children are still needed.
