Nurse Practitioner Requires Rigorous Study

It is obvious Deborah Nichols was never interviewed for Ms. Bechman’s recent news story “Payson doctor in legal tangle ...”

At the very least, a correction should be made regarding Ms. Nichols’ title. Deborah Nichols has completed a postgraduate master’s degree in nursing and has achieved the distinguished title of nurse practitioner.

The education required for this title is rigorous and requires advanced coursework and clinical rotations beyond that required of the registered nurse. After receiving a four-year bachelor’s of science degree in nursing, an additional four years of education is required.

Please recognize Ms. Nichols for her well-earned achievement: Deborah Nichols, nurse practitioner.

Michelle Buzan, registered nurse
