Order of the Eastern Star

The Ponderosa Chapter #64 O.E.S. meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Mondays at the Masonic Lodge, 200 E. Rancho Rd., Payson.

A potluck dinner is held at 5:30 at the second meeting of the month.

All Eastern Star members are invited. Ladies with any Masonic family affiliation are encouraged to join the group.

In addition to the meetings, the ladies gather at 10 a.m. every Wednesday for a fun game of canasta.

Payson Walkers

Members of the Payson Walkers meet at 9 a.m. daily for an hour-long hike on pavement. The following starting points have been scheduled:

Nov. 23 — West end of Longhorn

Nov. 24 — Library

Nov. 25 — Elks Lodge on Airport

Nov. 26 — Green Valley Parks and Rec

Please park away from the most used areas of any parking lot so as to not block businesses/clients, etc.

Payson Elks

The Payson Elks Lodge, 1206 N. Beeline Highway, serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Other activities include:

Saturday, Nov. 23 - Bingo for the Children, doors open 11 a.m., lunch of vegetable beef soup, ham and Swiss on rye, at 11:30 a.m., Bingo starts at 1 p.m. - all proceeds go to the Children’s Shopping Spree; 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Payson Elks Jam Band, no longer serving food.

Sunday, Nov. 24 – noon to 4 p.m., food served, 1 p.m., Bingo (doors open at noon), 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., happy hour, 4:30 p.m., pool tournament.

Unity of Payson

This Sunday, Nov. 24, Dr. Lynnette Brouwer will lead the 10 a.m. service with a talk titled, “Are You in the (Divine) Flow?”

Join Unity of Payson members as they explore the law of circulation and what it means to be in the flow of both giving and receiving. Find greater abundance in your life as you free your channels to give and receive with a joyful heart.

Also, guests are welcome to join the congregation after the service for a Thanksgiving potluck and great fellowship.

Praise and Worship Service

Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 204 W. Airport Road, Payson, will hav a Praise and Worship Service at 11:15 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 24 in the fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to attend and a light lunch will be served after the service.

Republicans host Justin Pierce

The Rim Country Republican Club meets Monday, Nov. 25 at Tiny’s Family Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260. Members and guests may gather at 11 a.m. to order lunch and to socialize. Beginning at 11:30 a.m., Justin Pierce, candidate for Arizona Secretary of State will speak.

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous meets from 2 p.m. Mondays at the Rim Country Health and Retirement Community Room, 807 W. Longhorn Road (after turning in the main driveway, turn right at the first driveway. The Community Room is in the center of the apartment complex). There are no fees or dues.

Buddhist Meditation and Study Group

The Payson Buddhist Meditation and Study group meets from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday evenings at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness, 107 W. Wade Lane. Call (928) 595-1378 for additional information.

Payson Area Singles     

The Tuesday Morning Breakfast Bunch, a group of single men and women, meet at 9 a.m. every week at Tiny’s Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260, to visit and plan future activities. Upcoming event include:

• Thursday, Nov. 28, Thanksgiving Day, singles will join together for a free dinner at Tiny’s Restaurant at 11:30 a.m.

• The Christmas party will be at Tiny’s Restaurant at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12. The group will be having dinner, a visit from Santa, gifts, and more.  

• Tuesday and Thursday members attend a Silver Sneakers exercise program together at Club USA at the Sawmill Crossing center.

JULIETs, Just Us Ladies Into Eating Together, meets for lunch and conversation the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Crosswinds Restaurant at the Airport at 11:30 a.m. It is just for fun, no book to read, no dish to make. Everyone is welcome, no reservations required.

Thanksgiving Eve worship service

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, will have a special Thanksgiving Eve worship service at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27.
