Beginning Saturday, Oct. 5, more than 60 works of unique art will be displayed throughout Payson. It is all part of the “1st Annual Chair-ish Payson Kids Fun Furniture Fundraiser.”
The event combines the talent of more than 60 local individuals and businesses who have created and are displaying the furniture art for a four-week silent auction. It culminates at a grand finale on Saturday, Nov. 2 when the works will be awarded to the winning bidders.
Starting this Saturday, Oct. 5, visit the displayed art and place your bids. All pieces can be seen online at www.paysoncommunitykids.com, there is also a directory identifying locations where the work is displayed.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, all the furniture art will be on display at Chili’s, where final bids may be placed from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., after which winners will be announced.
One hundred percent of the proceeds go to support Payson Community Kids.
“It’s fantastic to have the community so strongly behind this fun event,” said Suzy Tubbs, president of Payson Community Kids. Participants range from Sawmill Theatres to Sacred Skin Tattoo; and from Artists of the Rim to the Rim Golf Club.
“This is a win-win for the community,” said Tubbs, “because those displaying the art will benefit by the event attracting traffic to their places of business and Payson Community Kids receiving a much needed infusion of funds for underserved children.”
Children’s and adult chairs, stools and benches will be available. The themes vary widely including a Tribute to Marilyn Monroe, Hummingbirds, Winnie the Pooh, Cowboy and Cowgirl, At the Movies and Christmas.
“We have one entry that is a molded injection chair in the shape of a hand, so there is something for everyone,” continued Tubbs. “And the timing is perfect for those wanting to buy the perfect holiday gift.”
Chili’s and KRIM are co-sponsors of the event.
Payson Community Kids serves at-risk children in Payson and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
