The Arizona Game and Fish Department, in cooperation with the Coconino National Forest, will begin an improvement project at the C.C. Cragin (Blue Ridge) Reservoir this week, widening the existing boat ramp, installing rockfall protection netting and completing several other safety features.

The work will close Forest Road 751, approximately 2 miles east of State Route 87, near Rock Crossing Campground, starting Thursday, Oct. 17 through mid-December. There will be no public or vehicular access to the lake during that period.

Access to the lake, located on the Mogollon Rim east of Clints Well, is anticipated to resume in the spring of next year, as weather and road conditions allow.

When completed, the project will enhance recreational boating access, safety and fishing opportunities.

For additional information about the project, contact Ron Christofferson, boating facilities program manager for the Arizona Game and Fish Department, at (623) 236-7481.
