Barton Comments A Disgrace

Editor:

The comments of Rep. Brenda Barton (R-Payson) comparing President Obama to Adolph Hitler has gotten quite a national splash. If publicity and notoriety are her objectives then she has succeeded. But have her wild ideas furthered any useful and constructive discussions which is one of many obligations of our elected officials?

Rep. Barton used Facebook to castigate National Park Service employees, saying that they were collecting overtime during the government shutdown. This statement was fully vetted in The Arizona Republic (10/10/13) and found to be mostly false.

Rep. Barton, a shining example of our elected politicians? I think not.

Rep. Barton was right on target, except that most liberals can't stand the truth. And you really can't quote to much from the Arizona Repulsive without proving it.

The fact is, Rep. Brenda Barton is a shining example for our elected politicians to use as a role model because she believes in the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the principles set forth in the Declaration of Independence. Sadly, there are darned few politicians these days, including the man she called "der Fuhrer," who gives a spit for the document that created our government and gave them limited powers. A lot of low-information supporters of the caricatures of good politicians in our government are taking offense at Rep. Barton's remarks when they should be taking offense at the "National Socialists" in our government like Barry Soetoro -- er, Barack Obama. And by the way: German gutter slang for "National Socialist" was "Nazi." That's what der Fuhrer Hitler was and National Socialist is what Obama is. He has admitted it and his policies reflect it.

Don

Barton is a shining example of GOP gerrymandering and voter suppression. Nothing more ...... nothing less. If our districst represented a true sample of the population she wouldn't even be nominated :)

Mr. Mevis, What the hell are you talking about? GOP gerrymandering...If anything the districts favor the DMC. Voter supression....If you mean having to show a photo ID...you have to do that to do almost anything nowdays. Would you let anyone vote whether they were a citizen or not? Our district does not reflect the population...please give me your evidence for that statement. I have read your comments on other threads....and what you accuse others of is exactly what you do. I don't know where you are from...but you live in conservative Arizona now.....get over it.

I agree with Rex, Mel. As I mentioned to you before, Arizona was gerrymandered by a Democratically-dominated committee to destroy Republican influence. The Tea Party sued because of it, and unfortunately lost. You and I making progress (no, not the "progressive" kind) on another thread so don't take this personally, but you ought to get your facts straight or people will ambush you.

And believe me the greatest at "ambushing" while disregarding facts are the three amigos, Don, Donald, and Rex.
