Barton Comments Horrifying

Editor:

I am speechless and beyond horrified by Brenda Barton’s comparison of President Obama to Adolph Hitler. Does she not realize that our president is trying to save people’s lives by helping as many people as possible have health care?

Hitler, however, caused over 12 million people to die in concentration camps as well as causing military and civilian deaths of over 4 million people in Germany alone and almost half a million American military deaths. Estimates for combined military and civilian deaths range from 50 million to 60 million people total from all countries involved.

As a Jewish constituent who is supposedly represented by Ms. Barton, I demand that she issue a sincere apology for her atrocious comments at the very least, but I would most like to see voters on both sides of the aisle petition for her recall. Her comments border on sedition and hold up the state of Arizona and the community of Payson to nationwide contempt. Her stated values do not reflect those of the people I know in our town.

Give Obama time, he has concentration camps, too. They won't be filled with Jews, but some other group.

That was sarcasm, in case you didn't know it when you saw it. And Obama doesn't care to give people health care. A person really has to be dense to believe such lies. Our country isn't becoming Nazi Germany, but has already become Nazi Germany and is fast on the track to becoming Communist Russia - and Obama is just the latest Führer, or Premiere if you like that term better.

Ms. Shulman, I don't agree with Ms. Barton's comments. But why would you and the other liberal writers to the editor, think that she represents you ? She is a conservative republican....and elected by the same. Were her comments ill-advised....yes. Were they seditious...no. I remember Pres. Bush being compared to Hitler on many occasions by your side. Were was your outrage then? I did not vote for Obama. Do I think he represents me....no. You thought and speach police need to get your shorts out of a wad....and realize that your views are not appreciated in some areas of this country.

Sir, Even if someone doesn't vote for an elected official they still represents everyone in their district.

So if a registered Democrat goes to Republican representative as a constituent and request help with a goverment issue that help should be denied?

Sir I also live in this area ...... and I find anyone who makes disparaging remarks about another person in a manner as Ms Barton did wrong.

Also ...... I was taught to respect the Office of the President of the United States. I have not agree with everything this President has done and the same is true for his predecessors, but all were elected and deserve respect.

Uh ...newsflash for the low-information types: We live in America. Unlike any other country of the world, we have the fundamental right to make disrespectful comments and assertions of anyone in office. In fact, unlike any other country in the world, we have the absolute right to accuse anyone of corruption so long as the public has a right to know and as long as we can prove our charges or prove we believed the charges to be true and conducted our due diligence to be certain of it. Try that in any other country in the world, even if you can prove it, and the politician MIGHT lose his job over it (no guarantee) but he CAN sue you and he can win and he can force you to pay him damages for costing him his job. if "Political Correctness" was written into the U.S. Constitution we would still be paying homage to a mentally-ill monarch. Instead we are a free country because we can speak our mind and if government doesn't like it, government can go pound sand.

You have that right, Mr. Rhea. And Ms Vicki: Any time you feel justified in prosecuting someone for sedition because they call a politician a thug, you are defining yourself as one who has no clue about the liberties this nation was founded to establish and preserve for all time. Obviously you are not aware that Thomas Jefferson, the man who wrote our Declaration of Independence, said, on the record, that "sedition" is one crime that cannot occur in the United States of America. We have the right of free speech, especially when calling a politician who ignores the Constitution, tries to destroy the capitalism that improved the lot of the average working man, woman, and child more in the 19th Century than it had improved in the last 25 centuries, bows and scrapes before muslim dictators and princes, and does his darndest to destroy the right of the American people to be armed in their own defense, in defense of their families, communities, and Constitutional government, "Der Fuhrer." Rep. Barton should be hailed a heroine and songs should be sung celebrating her around campfires, and if Obama and his Marxist Mafia have their way in our nation, songs will be sung around campfires celebrating her because no one will have a home of their own to live in. You desperately need to study history, Vicki. You should start with "The 5,000 Year Leap" by W. Cleon Skousen, that describes the 28 fundamental principles the founders used in creating this nation of liberty your great Messiah Barry Soetoro (aka Obama) and his internationalist handlers are trying to destroy.

Ms. Shulman, Thank you for your letter. You are definitely not alone in feeling shame over Brenda Barton's words. She doesn't represent my views at all...but since she was elected by a majority of voters she does, unfortunately, represent my district. And so it goes...

Mr. Mevis' I am a conservitive. Do I think that the liberals , elected to office , represent my viewpoints....no. If you think that a conservative that is elected has to represent your viewpoint....welcome to the real world.. I also respect the office of President. But you seem to forget that the power of our government comes from the citizens up....not the government down.
