Due to the recent resumption of federal government funding, Tonto National Forest officials anticipate that all recreation sites and administrative offices will be open by 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18.

Marinas at Roosevelt, Apache, Canyon, Bartlett and Saguaro lakes are open for business as usual; for further information, please contact the marinas directly.

“We are working quickly to recall staff and coordinate efforts to reopen all forest facilities, boat launches and developed recreational sites which were open previous to the shutdown,” said Neil Bosworth, forest supervisor.

“We appreciate the public’s ongoing patience and support as we work to return all operations to normal.”

The following areas remained open during the shutdown and remain open:

• Trails and dispersed recreation sites

• All commercial marinas
