Students in Payson are rallying community members to commit to safe driving. Supporting Payson High School (PHS) shows Rim Country residents are working hard to reduce teen deaths in car crashes, the number one killer of teens in the U.S. and Canada.
The community can help PHS win a $100,000 grant and a possible concert by Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson. To help, log on to www.celebratemy drive.com to make a safe driving commitment once a day, everyday, between Oct. 18 and 26.
The more safe driving commitments the community makes on behalf of PHS, the better the chance to win the grant and host the concert.
Celebrate My Drive offers a different approach to a leading public health risk, with special emphasis on a teen’s first year on the road — which statistically rates as the most dangerous year of a person’s life. Using research as a guide, State Farm Insurance Company is approaching teen driver safety by engaging teens while they learn to drive in a supportive and positive way.
It’s a community celebration of safe driving habits emphasizing the benefits of safe choices as teens celebrate the freedom that comes with getting a driver’s license. Learn more about the initiative at www.celebrate mydrive.com.
