Drainage Improvement Work Starting On Sr 188

Drivers should expect a lane closure and reduced speed limits

Beginning Monday, Nov. 4, the Arizona Department of Transportation will start work on two new concrete box culverts under State Route 188, between mileposts 254 and 257, east of Punkin Center by Roosevelt Lake.

Work on the $984,000 project will continue into the spring of 2014 and will include the two new concrete box culverts, removal of existing pipes and pavement and guardrail improvements.

Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. During construction, one lane will close and a temporary traffic signal will limit traffic to one direction at a time. Motorists will experience short delays as the signal transitions through its cycle.

ADOT urges drivers to adhere to the reduced speed limit and proceed through the work zone with caution and watch for construction equipment and personnel.
