Crews are fighting a forest fire burning south of Roosevelt Lake.
Officials say lightning started the Pinion Fire on Tonto National Forest about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, roughly 15 miles southeast of Tonto Basin.
As of Friday morning, the fire was at 200 acres and 50 percent contained. Officials initially put it at 300 acres, but downgraded it with better mapping. Officials expect to have it fully contained by today.
Firefighters completed a backburn Wednesday night in the area of Two Bar Ridge Road and remained on scene throughout the night.
