In 2010 Payson Town Council candidate Su Connell made a promise to protect Payson’s citizens and provide the best possible police, fire and water services. How did she do? Su was a member of the budget team that annually created a fiscally conservative budget that kept town staff employed and services running during a critical nationwide economic downturn. Fire protection is now fully staffed at all three fire stations. The C.C. Cragin water project has seen progress with final completion targeted for 2018. Construction of the pipeline that will bring that water is scheduled to begin next summer. Once that is completed, Payson will have ample water for more than the projected build-out of 33,000 residents. Even with 33,000 residents in Payson we will be the only town/city in Arizona that will continually be water sufficient for generations to come.
With the economy rebounding, the current budget calls for an increase in police staffing, community development, and a faster building, planning and zoning process.
The town council just authorized an economic development position and already staffed that position with a very capable person.
Su Connell is my choice for town council.
