The voters of Arizona deserve a hearty congratulations and a big thank you for the selections they made on primary Tuesday. We vanquished the H and H boys — Horne and Huppenthal — set numerous far right and far left candidates to the political sidelines, and perhaps positioned ourselves to be a little more moderate in our politics as we enter the general election in November.
Also, having the disbarred and disingenuous Andrew Thomas take a political hike should be considered a bonus!
Northern Gila County voters could learn a lesson or two from the primary in that incumbents aren’t necessarily the best people to vote for in any election.
The advent of influence shown by Independent voters bodes well for our state. Too much power in the hands of one political party has a tendency to corrupt the system and throw things out of balance.
Let’s hope November brings us more balance, moderation, intelligence, and the ability to realize that the word “compromise” is not an utterance to be avoided in Arizona political circles.
