Bring on the chrome — and coffee?
On Sunday, Dimi Espresso is holding its first semiannual car show from noon to 5 p.m. at 612 N. Beeline Highway in the Swiss Village Shopping Center.
Besides hot rods and drag cars, there will be live music, food and plenty of coffee from the café, said event organizer Dylan Kasten with Dimi Espresso.
It was only a few weeks ago that Steve and Russ Ostrom with Ostrom Racing approached Kasten and Dimi owner Tom Plets with the idea for a car show.
“They asked if we were interested in hosting a car show here and we said we had thought about it,” Kasten said.
The men got together and quickly roughed out ideas for a car show. They are expecting several dozen vehicles with prizes for the best rat rod, hot rod, antique car, custom truck, motorcycle and nostalgic drag car. Gerardo’s Firewood Café will have wood-fired pizza for sale and Dimi Espresso will be grilling.
Live music includes Chris Pajak crooning classic rock tracks. Kasten said they want to help make Rim Country a destination for auto lovers and plans another car show at the café in August. For more information, call (928) 951-1198.
