I am writing to you to share one recent piece of “good news” from Payson Elementary School.
With nearly 550 young students traversing our hallways, filling our classrooms, pouring out onto the playground, each day. Our staff, volunteers and families labor with love, and share the responsibilities in educating, nurturing, guiding and caring for these precious children. It truly does take a village to raise a child.
We don’t always know how we will fill a need, but through many giving individuals, organizations and businesses we are blessed to be able to provide for many needs many people don’t realize are so great in our community.
We are always seeking means of improving the quality of not only education, but of the lives of our children.
I would like to publicly thank Glenn and Patrick, who brought Christmas to PES after an unexpected delay up north this holiday season. These selfless, loving “elves” gifted every child on our campus with an opportunity to choose a great gift from Santa’s bounty that was somehow delivered to our little town, and as each child delighted to carefully chose just the perfect gift, the smiles on the volunteers were every bit as bright and genuine as those mirrored on the children’s faces.
I don’t know how they did what they did, but know they brought a Christmas gift of an unexpected, unsolicited, Christmas miracle to our campus Jan. 24.
Thank you Glenn and Patrick, and all of your generous helpers for your gifts of hope, miracles, and those shiny, thoughtful gifts that came in the form of toys too.
Miracles still exist, and thank you to all of you who support our children, in any of the many ways you each do.
