Chris Wolf, chief executive officer of Payson Regional Medical Center, announced his plans to take a new position this past Friday.
Wolf, who has served as CEO of PRMC for the past 12 years, is taking the CEO position with a sister hospital in Las Vegas, N.M., the Alta Vista Regional Medical Center.
His last day at PRMC is Friday, Feb. 28.
“Words cannot begin to express how much all of you mean to me,” Wolf wrote in his letter to the board, medical staff, employees and volunteers of PRMC.
Acknowledging Wolf’s decision, Kevin Dick, chair of the PRMC Board of Trustees, said, “Chris Wolf has been instrumental in the growth and development of our organization. Chris has also been a strong Payson community advocate serving in several volunteer roles. We will miss him and at the same time, wish him the best.”
He went on to say Wolf has led PRMC to several great achievements during his tenure through the focus on quality outcomes, safety and service.
“We scored 100 percent on our latest Joint Commission survey, continue to have improved patient, physician and staff satisfaction,” Dick continued.
PRMC has earned the distinction of being named a Top 100 hospital four times in the past seven years.
Wolf also had success in the recruitment of 35 physicians while with PRMC.
A national search for a new CEO has started, but until the position is filled permanently, Elmer Hyde, who arrives March 3 and brings more than 30 years of executive health care experience to the job, will serve PRMC.
A farewell reception for Wolf is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Payson Golf Course and is open to all.
