The Pine Strawberry Elementary archery team displayed its marksmanship with six of its 10 competitors placing among the top 10 in a Feb. 8 shoot in Sierra Vista that featured archers from all around the state.
The event was part of the Arizona Game and Fish’s National Archery in the Schools Program.
Raci Miranda was first, Emma Paine second and Angelina Blanch sixth in the elementary female division. Caleb Barlow placed third among elementary males. Micheal Aguon was sixth in the middle school male division and Jordan Wain placed ninth in the middle school female division. Cooper Sharp, Cash York, Veronica Blanch, Kendall Brooks also participated for Pine Strawberry Elementary, which competes in several events throughout the school year.
The team will remain active in the next few weeks, competing in a meet at the Ben Avery Shooting Range in Phoenix this Saturday, at Mesa Redeemer Christian Academy on Feb. 28 and in the state meet at Ben Avery on March 15. The state event is a qualifier for the nationals, which are scheduled to take place in May in Louisville, Ken.
