The Snyder family has had a wonderful Christmas. Some of the Snyder clan gathered at our house and waited until most everyone was here and then we opened our gifts. What fun! Our son Bill Jr., our grandsons, Brian, Christian, and our granddaughter, Gatlyn and her boyfriend, and our granddaughter-in law, Sarah, had our little home rockin’ and rolling with noise, laughter and mass confusion. The biggest problem was sitting everyone at our small round table in our small dining room and fixing lots of food in my small one-butt kitchen. We all managed somehow without too much trouble and we all had a great time. We even played a few of the games our grandson Christian had received as gifts. One was Clue, at which I am terrible — I made so many mistakes, I didn’t know who the killer was. The other game was Life and that was a lot of fun. All in all, this Christmas will be rated at No. 1 for the best Christmas we have had in many years.
New Year’s Resolutions
I am not the type to make resolutions because I never keep them, so what’s the point?
But if you are going to make any at all, now is the time, the start of a new beginning, a brand new year. Just don’t bring your old baggage with you into 2014. Leave it behind you and start fresh. Well, maybe I should make one new resolution ... I should eat healthier foods and read labels! Our daughter Eileen keeps after me to read labels before I buy foods since there are so many foods that are not good for a person’s health (too many additives!).

The Shelby School Boy Scout Troop #7787 garnered $600 from their mistletoe sales this Christmas. A nice sum that was definitely worth the freezing trip to Prescott. Though the boys may well be “scouting” for a closer source for the elusive plant for next year.
Just a reminder to all parents and students: Classes will start for the next semester at 8:15 a.m., Monday, Jan. 6. The bus will run on its regular schedule.
To all of my readers, may this year be the best of your life so far! Happy New Year!
