Recently the love of my life lost his battle with cancer. During his fight the residents in the communities of Pine and Strawberry opened their hearts to my family and myself. They were there for us with compassion, strength, encouragement, and monetarily. For this I am eternally grateful.
This is not the first time these communities have opened their hearts for me and others. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. Somehow those words just don’t seem to be enough.
I would like to send a special thank you to a few outstanding neighbors: first, to Pine/Strawberry Elementary School, thank you, each and everyone of you, if it wasn’t for all of you I don’t think I could have made it through the last four months; second, Stacy Flanagan, thank you for taking care of my classes, my kids and my subs and lesson plans; next, I would like to thank my sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students for your letters and notes, they kept me going through the toughest times, I have missed you all and will see you all soon; lastly, I would like to thank Hospice Compassus, especially Erica Tanner, the support and compassion of the doctors, nurses, and staff was greatly appreciated during Ed’s final days.
In closing I would again like to say thank you for the hugs, words of encouragement, the visits, the dinners, your compassion, a shoulder to cry on and all your gifts. I will never be able to repay all the acts of kindness that you have offered me and my family.
