Payson Dog Park gazebo will host a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 25 to celebrate the unveiling of the new shade structure built from a donation provided by PetSmart at the Rumsey Dog Park located at 400 N. McLane Road.
PetSmart donated $11,000 for a new shade structure and other amenities. The new shade structure is now part of the Rumsey Bark Park, Payson’s off-leash dog park, maintained by the Payson Parks Department and the Payson Area Woofers Society (PAWS) volunteer group.
“This donation from PetSmart will be the most significant, single contribution for infrastructure at the Rumsey Bark Park since its inception,” said Nelson Beck, Payson Parks supervisor.
“I’m sure the participants and users of this facility will get many years of enhanced experience from this addition of creature comforts for the pet owners.”
PetSmart was able to provide this donation through its PetSmart Gives Back initiative. This initiative focuses on giving back to local communities throughout the nation in support of organizations that enrich people’s lives through the power of pets.
“At PetSmart, caring about pets, people and our communities is at the heart of everything we do,” said Shani McKee, PetSmart District manager. “We’re proud to partner with the Town of Payson in an effort to help make the Rumsey Dog Park a better place for our pet parents and their pets.”
