The real problem in our society isn’t the unsecured weapon; it’s the inattention of the supposed caring, loving, parent — whether in a drowning or a gunshot.
Children having children, unheard of 50 years ago; or if it occurred, it was a shameful thing and kept secret. Girls were warned of the consequences of spreading their legs to anyone who said I love you or other words of endearment, or offered candy in whatever form.
And excuses, have no merit — “I had to go to the bathroom” or “I just was on the phone for a few seconds” or “someone rang the doorbell.” We’ve heard it all, but the simple truth is this — you cannot take your eyes off your children. When will they ever learn?
Blaming an inanimate object for a tragedy instead of placing the blame on the inattentive, supposedly responsible person is the crux of the real problem today.
