Republican Senator Chester Crandell recently declared that the findings of 97 percent of all scientists and a host of professional scientific organizations to be invalid. The finding that “climate warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities, “is incorrect in his mind because 3 percent of scientists disagreed, so the 97 percent must be wrong.” This coming from an educated man is simply astounding!
Why is it that we keep getting such radicals in our state government?
It is this view that has given conservatives a bad name. “Conservative” no longer even remotely suggests the conservation of anything.
We need to elect officials who are willing to accept fundamental realities and work together to solve problems.
Can’t we elect someone who at least respects science and reality?
