The Navajo Generating Station’s owners list is: U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, 24.3 percent; Salt River Project (SRP), 21.7 percent; Los Angeles Department of Water Power, 21.2 percent; Arizona Public Service (APS), 14 percent; Nevada Energy, 11.3 percent; and Tucson Electric Power, 7.5 percent.

Owners who have already stated their intention of divesting themselves of their interest in the NGS prior to the year of 2019 are Los Angeles Department of Water & Power and Nevada Energy. SRP and APS are also looking to divest their interests.

Economic Impact — The EPA requirements known as BART (Best Available Retrofit Technology) will also impact citizens. Central Arizona Project’s water rates will increase by 32 percent to its Indian tribes and agricultural customers. If the NGS is shut down, those rates are expected to increase as much as 66 percent.
