The Star Valley Town Council and its staff, plus some volunteers, put on a great party May 14 to dedicate the B. Diane McDaniel Community Park.

McDaniel was instrumental in the incorporation of Star Valley.

Participating in the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the park were (from left) Councilor George Binney, Councilor Barbara Hartwell, Councilor Vern Leis, Payson Mayor Kenny Evans, Star Valley Vice Mayor Del Newland, Diane’s husband and Mayor Ronnie McDaniel, Councilor Gary Coon and Councilor Paty Henderson.

Guests were treated to hamburgers and hot dogs prepared by Roy Haught and plenty of accompaniments, great potato salad, chips, cookies and watermelon.

Quite a number of Payson town employees came out to help dedicate the park, along with many proud Star Valley residents.
