Editor:

Well said, Shirley. Your view is “responsibility” and I support that!

I like the idea of requiring a “hand up” to go along with the “hand out.” Imagine all the good works that might be accomplished with that practice!

The goal is to help people lift themselves up out of difficult circumstances and provide good lessons to their children at the same time, not rely on the government programs. Afterall, those programs may or may not be there in the future the way things are going. I can’t think of anything truly more compassionate.

Persevere, Shirley.

Kathie, What does "responsibility" mean? Who, what, why, when and where is someone responsible? On what "level" are you referring? Individual, hearth, community, county, state, country or world responsibility (aka "systems of sovereignty")? Sorry to geek out on you and sorry if this is to much, but, we need to define the meaning of what these common words are that are thrown around and have very complex implications into the very fabric of our community;-)

Well lRobbin, Seems you have lost it. Guess you will have to look up the meaning of responsibility. Why do you try so hard to make it impossible to answer your posts?

Katie, I think your letter to the editor was great.

Oh Patty, You are the one who has lost it...MS Dye offers no solutions other than calling parents drug addicts and alcoholics because they make a Gila County average wage...Blame Wally World and Mickey D's and the other poor paying businesses in the County and State for putting poor children at risk. Stop this nonsense of blocking hungry children from eating.

Pat, Did the PUSD board have a responsibility to the tax payers during the sell of Frontier Elementary? That is what I mean by levels of responsibility. Some people want others to take responsibility while not actually taking responsibility themselves. That is what I mean by these thing need to be better clarified. When you hear the word, you hear it differently then I do. The meaning should be the same to both of us, don't you think?
