On Monday night nearly 400 people crowded into the Mazatzal Hotel and Casino ballroom for the unveiling of the Best of the Rim.
Some 1,700 people filled out ballots to select their favorite Rim Country businesses, people and places. They cast nearly 90,000 ballots in 70 different categories.
The Roundup will print a special edition on Feb. 27 with photos of all the winners along with business profiles. The awards give businesses bragging rights all year long for the great array of categories including things like best barber, bartender, beautician, hamburger, lunch restaurant, place to meet singles, local band and a host of other categories.
DJ Craig, who took the photos of the event for these posts, won recognition as the photographer of the year.
So here are the winners by category. We’ll post a series of stories this morning with all the winners.
