Audrey Joyce Shaw 1935 - 2010
Audrey Joyce Shaw of Mesa and Tonto Village, died March 10, 2010 at the age 75 after a short illness. Mrs. Shaw was born Feb. 16, 1935 in Storden Township, Minn. on the family farm.
She attended Ann Township Country School and Walnut Grove High School, Minn. She graduated in 1953 and attended Minnesota School of Business. She became an administrative assistant for Aetna Life Insurance. She married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Morris Shaw in 1957. They had two children, Michael M. Shaw and Sandra Louise Shaw and lived in Inver Grove Heights, Minn. for 21 years.
The couple were involved in the Inver Grove Heights Development and were charter members of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In 1980, they were transferred through Mr. Shaw’s job to Scottsdale. In 1985, they purchased Saguaro Moulding, Inc. where she served as chairperson of the board until her death.
In 1994, Glenn and Audrey retired to Tonto Village. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August 2007. After Mr. Shaw’s death in December 2007, Mrs. Shaw moved to Mesa to live with her son Michael and daughter-in-law Darlene. There, she shared her love of life, vivid memories and humor with all of her family and new friends.
She adored her family, traveling, reading, lutefisk and especially spending time with her great-granddaughter Bailey Jewel Hinojos.
She was admired and loved by all who knew her.
Her husband, Glenn, her daughter Sandra Shaw Human and her parents Arthur and Evelyn Osland, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Darlene Shaw; grandchildren, Antoinette (Kris) Bach of Phoenix, Andrea Bach of Scottsdale, Chris (Kaycie) Hinojos, Loree Keenan and Andrew Saldana, all of Mesa; 100-year-old father-in-law, Glenn R. Shaw of Walnut Grove, Minn.; son-in-law, Steve Human of Pine and his children. Also surviving are siblings, Robert H. and Charyel Osland of Walnut Grove, Minn., their children, Craig (Lori) of Sheffield, Iowa and Chad (Pam) of Bingham Lake, Minn., Douglas and Judy Osland of Oakdale, Minn. and their children, Kimberly (Beverly) of Maplewood, Minn. and Brent (Shawn) of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Mary and Neil Sibley of Woodbury, Minn. and their children, Bryan of Woodbury, Minn. and Stacey of Richfield, Minn.
Services were Sunday, March 14 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home. Interment was at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park, Payson.
