Joe M. Tersiner

Joe M. Tersiner died Oct. 30, 2008 at RTA Hospice in Payson. He was born on Oct. 6 1915 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Joe and Mary Tersiner of Yale, Kansas.
He married Margaret Utermoehlen of Arma Kansas on Feb. 10, 1945.
Mr. Tersiner was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Carter Hall LSD3 in the South Pacific during World War II.
He was a longtime resident of Arma, Kansas and a proud member of UMWA Local 580, retiring in 1974 after 40 years with Mackie Clements Coal Co.
Mr. Tersiner was a member of the American Legion, Arma Masonic Lodge, the Mirza Shrine and the SNPJ Lodge.
He is survived by his son, Bruce Tersiner of Koloa, Hawaii; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Tom Harmison of Payson; granddaughter, Heather Harmison of Fountain Hills; and brother, August Tersiner of Ottawa, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 8, 2002; his parents; brothers, Leo and Louie Tersiner; sisters, Josephine Christman, Jennie Kraner, Bertha Strukel, Annie Colsello and an infant sister.
