Alma Fay Hardee 1909 - 2008
Alma Fay (Belluzzi) Hardee died Oct. 11, 2008. She was born Feb. 14, 1909, and was a member of the Belluzzi-Hardt pioneer family.
Mrs. Hardee lived a long and colorful life. She dug potatoes in Oregon and was a housekeeper and cook there. In Payson, she was a waitress, a cook, and a cowgirl on her and her husband, John Hardee’s Gisela ranch. At one point, she owned her own diner, and she spent many years caring for her mother. She loved children and animals, and throughout her long life she “adopted” many.
She was a member of the Gila County Daughters of the Pioneers.
Mrs. Hardee spent her last years at Payson Care Center and was also under the care of hospice.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by sisters, June Gist, Anne Davis and Sadie Alford; and brothers, Bert Belluzzi, Raymond Belluzzi and Buster Neal.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 18 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, with burial at Payson Pioneer Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Payson Humane Society or RTA Hospice.
