Doris J Bruns
Doris J. Bruns died Oct. 8, 2008, with her husband by her side. It was almost 60 years exactly from the moment of their first date.
She was born and raised in the Lincoln, Mo. area, where she also attended Warrensburg College.
She married Harold Bruns in 1950.
Mrs. Bruns worked in banking industry while raising her family and spent most of her working years in Kansas City, Mo.
A consummate dancer, she enjoyed the waltz and polka.
After retiring, Mr. and Mrs. Bruns traveled the country visiting each and every state.
In 2000 they settled in the Payson area where Mrs. Bruns became a member of the Payson United Methodist Church. She also volunteered at the Payson Police Department and treasured the close friends she made there.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Bruns; three children, Darlene Jeter, and her husband Dwight Jeter, of Houston, Brenda Fotopoulos of Chicago and Ronald Bruns of New York City; three grandchildren, Rebecca Jeter of Jersey City, Abigail Jeter and Sarah Jeter, both of Houston; and four siblings, Ethel Davis, Anna Brown, Maryetta Yach and Bill Langston, all residing in the Lincoln, Mo. area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.
