James W. “Jim” Delbrook, 72, died Oct. 27, 2008 with his family by his side.
The Payson resident was a life-long Arizonan. He attended Alhambra Grade School and West Phoenix High School.
After high school he owned and operated the Union 76 Station at 19th Avenue and Osborn.
In 1960, he joined the elevator industry and later became president of Arizona Elevator. He was one of the original Up and Down Boys.
He was an avid golfer and charter member of Desert Mountain.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, LaVonne; brother, William, sister-in-law, Loretta; daughter, Kim, son-in-law, Wayne; sons, John, Douglas and David; eight grandchildren; three nieces and a nephew.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 3 at Messinger Mortuary, 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Road in Scottsdale.
