Larry Dean Everetts Sr.
1933 - 2009
Larry Dean Everetts Sr., of Payson, died April 6, 2009 at the age of 76. He was born Jan. 26, 1933 in Hillsboro, Ohio to Amanda and Dewey Everetts.
Mr. Everetts moved his family to Arizona in 1957 where he became a talented and a hard-working carpenter, raising seven children with his wife Jo-Ann. His children fondly remember the hard work and fun times shared at the recreational cabins and homes he built in Pinetop, Crown King, Glendale and Payson.
In later years, Mr. Everetts became a true craftsman when he established Larry’s Fine Woodworking, a cabinet and fine furniture shop in Star Valley where he created many unique pieces, which many families in Payson still treasure today. He retired in 1994 and enjoyed restoring yard sale and secondhand store bargains with his friend Pat Skidgel. Mr. Everetts was eternally grateful to his daughter Debbie and her husband Dan Kelly for the care and devotion they bestowed on him in his final months.
He is survived by his children, Debbie Kelly and her husband Dan, Judy Klamer, Dottie Smith and her husband Smitty, Sandy Mays and her husband Sam, Teresa Johnson, Larry Everetts Jr. and Randy Everetts and his wife Lori. He will also be missed by his 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and his sister, Ruth Cress.
