Kenny Berg, 76, died Aug. 8, 2009 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Camp Verde while returning from a road trip through Utah with his wife.
Born in Lansing, Mich., he played football in college, worked in Ohio and made his way to Arizona where he married Marti in 1971.
After retirement, Kenny made his home in Deer Creek Village where he has been active in bass fishing, radio-controlled airplanes and motorcycling among many other interests.
Mr. Berg is survived by his daughters, Joleen Gower, Jaleen Flanigan and Evene Halvorson, all of Mesa. He also has nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Welsh Berg; and most recently, his wife, Marlene Berg.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive.
The family will host a reception immediately following at Macky’s Grill to share our stories of this wonderful friend.
