Patrick E. Bryson
Patrick E. Bryson, a 1982 Payson High graduate, died Nov. 21, 2009 in his home in Lisbon, Conn.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Susan (Householder) Bryson, 40, Lower Blissville Rd., Lisbon, CT 06351; his mother, MarlaJean (Dick) Johnson of Mesa; his father, Jack K. (Mary) Bryson; and two brothers, Jack K. Bryson Jr. and Chase Bryson, all of Minnesota.
Mr. Bryson retired from the U.S. Navy Submarine Corps Aug. 28, 2009 after 20 years of service with the rank of chief tech officer of electronics and communications; chief of the dive and lead navigational officer. He was the planksman of and served on the USS Maryland, a ballistic missile submarine based in St Mary’s, Ga., the USS Toledo, an attack submarine, based in Oahu, Hawaii, and Groton, Conn. deployed on several occasions to the Middle East, and a tender in Sardinia, Italy. He received numerous commendations, ribbons, awards and medals, patrol pins and deployment medals.
His family and friends and peers will be honoring Mr. Bryson and celebrating his life at a private ceremony Dec. 12 at the Naval Officer’s Club in Groton, Conn.
He was an active member of Military Veterans Motorcycle Club which raises funds and puts on events for and to help veterans in hospitals.
