James William Gaupel

James William Gaupel, 89, died Feb. 21, 2009 at the Beatitudes Campus, where he resided for the past three years.
Mr. Gaupel is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Gaupel; his children Jacque, Jerry, James, Anthony and Judy; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gaupel had many friends in Strawberry, Tempe and Phoenix. The Gaupels constructed their home in Strawberry and moved there in 1987 after Mr. Gaupel’s retirement from an electrical career.
He was born in Covington, Ky. where he married his wife. The Gaupels moved to Tempe in 1961.
A celebration of life was held Feb. 26 at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road.
