Beecher Harding Cook
Beecher Harding Cook, 89, of Payson, died July 6, 2009. He was born in Madison, W.Va. and had been a resident of Payson for the past 10 years.
Mr. Cook was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II and received a Purple Heart and various medals of valor and conduct.
A former resident of Danville, W.Va. he worked in the coal mines for 39 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Elaine S. Cales; grandson, Danial Wade; and great-grandsons, Tyler and Quentin.
His wife of 54 years, Mildred Tabor Cook; and his father, Ward Cook, preceded him in death.
A military service will be held in Danville, W.Va. at a later date.
