Robert Varney Miller
Robert Varney Miller, formerly of Payson, and more recently of Scottsdale, died Feb. 27, 2009 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He earned a bachelor’s in mathematics from Westminster College in Pennsylvania and his M.B.A. from Syracuse University in New York.
He worked for 15 years with Scottsdale Insurance Company as a contract underwriting specialist. He was an avid sports fan, loved golf, and had a true love of dogs.
He is survived by his father, John A. Miller; sister, Susan D. Barton; niece, Elizabeth; nephews, Casey and Michael; and a grandniece, Madison.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pat Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 4 at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Road in Scottsdale.
Donations in Mr. Miller’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Arizona Humane Society.
